Do work that matters As a Principal Software Engineer in AI Security, you will lead the design, development, and implementation of secure, scalable, and intelligent software solutions that protect AI systems, models, and data. You will play a pivotal role in shaping the technical direction of AI-powered security engineering initiatives, ensuring robust defences against emerging threats, while enabling innovation across the enterprise. We’re interested in hearing from people who Architecture & Design Leadership: Define and lead the architecture of AI security platforms, including model security, posture management, runtime protection, and red teaming capabilities. Secure AI Development: Build and optimise secure AI algorithms and systems that detect, prevent, and respond to cyber threats targeting AI assets. Cross-functional Collaboration: Partner with product managers, data scientists, and security SMEs to embed AI-driven security tooling into DevSecOps pipelines and enterprise platforms. Mentorship & Technical Leadership: Guide engineering teams in secure coding practices, threat modelling, and AI safety principles. Conduct code reviews and foster a culture of continuous improvement. Innovation & Research: Stay ahead of AI security trends, including adversarial ML, prompt injection, and model inversion. Lead internal pilots and contribute to strategic technology direction. Governance & Compliance: Ensure AI systems comply with internal security policies and external regulations. Drive adoption of responsible AI and zero trust principles. Tech skills Proven experience in software engineering with a focus on AI and cybersecurity. Expertise in designing secure systems using AI/ML techniques. Strong understanding of threat modelling, secure software lifecycle, and vulnerability management. Familiarity with cloud-native architectures and scalable backend systems. Experience with AI model deployment, monitoring, and runtime protection. Ability to lead cross-functional teams and influence strategic decisions. Prior work in financial services or regulated industries (desirable) Hands-on experience with GenAI, LLMs, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) workflows is a bonus Knowledge of AI security risks such as model poisoning, data leakage, and adversarial attacks is a bonus Working with us We support our people with the flexibility to balance where work is done with at least half your time each month connecting in office.
