You will never be bored or short of things to do as a Banking System Administrator with NGM Group. Our technology teams are in the middle of major infrastructure upgrades, platform migrations and banking system transformations — all focused on improving customer experience and keeping data secure.
As part of our Operational Support team, you'll provide hands‐on systems administration support across core banking platforms and enterprise infrastructure in a highly regulated, 24x7 environment. This role is best suited to a technically curious problem‐solver who enjoys analysing issues, working across interconnected systems and supporting platforms that genuinely matter.
What will your key responsibilities include?
* Support and maintain core banking systems, applications and supporting infrastructure to meet confidentiality, integrity, availability and compliance standards
* Ensure smooth operation of database systems by monitoring performance, troubleshooting issues, and delivering timely resolutions.
* Develop, maintain, and enhance automation scripts using Bash and PowerShell to support system administration, monitoring, and operational tasks
* Perform Linux (primary) and Windows system administration across production environments
* Support database platforms (Oracle / RDB) at a systems level, including production issue support
* Participate in application upgrades, platform changes, infrastructure moves and technology initiatives
* Manage Incident, Service and Change Requests in line with ITIL and governance processes
* Maintain systems in line with cyber security, audit and risk controls
* Contribute to documentation, procedures and service improvement activities
What are we looking for?
We value individuals who embrace change and continuously evolve with emerging technologies and methods. To thrive in this role, you will bring:
* Strong experience of IT systems and management tools and techniques and why they are important in a 24x7 business environment.
* Experience with Bash and/or PowerShell scripting, or other relevant scripting languages (e.g. Python or shell scripting), with the ability to build or modify scripts to support system administration tasks.
* Practical experience in IT service delivery (ITIL) in a corporate environment.
* Experience in Linux System Administration and/or Microsoft Windows Server.
* Exposure to or knowledge of Cloud Based Systems and methodologies such as MS Azure.
* Exposure to database platforms such as Oracle and/or RDB, and understanding how they operate in backend environments
* Experience working within structured IT service management and change processes
* Tertiary qualifications in Computer Science, Information Technology, Information Security, or equivalent demonstrated industry experience.
* Exposure to VMS environments would be advantageous, but is not essential.
