About The Opportunity
The successful candidate will deliver high‑quality clinical assessments for BreastScreen clients with screen‑detected abnormalities as a key member of our multidisciplinary team. They will also contribute to the teaching, mentoring, and supervision of medical and clinical staff as required. All care will be provided within the clinical privileges granted by the Chief Executive, based on the advice of the SWSLHD Medical and Dental Appointments Advisory Committee.

What You'll Be Doing
The role is responsible for providing clinical management and treatment of patients within SWSLHD facilities, in line with the clinical privileges granted by the Chief Executive on the advice of the SWSLHD Medical and Dental Appointments Advisory Committee. This includes ensuring detailed patient treatment plans are in place, maintaining high‑quality clinical documentation, actively participating in departmental clinical activities, and adapting practice to contemporary evidence‑based standards. The position also upholds all SWSLHD and BreastScreen NSW clinical governance requirements, contributes to quality improvement programs, ensures effective clinical handover, and participates in peer review, M&M, and other professional development activities to maintain ongoing competence. In addition, the role supports education and training across undergraduate and postgraduate medical levels, contributes to the development of other clinical staff, and participates in departmental and mandatory training programs. Supervision of junior medical staff is required in accordance with facility, SWSLHD, HETI, NSW Health and relevant specialist College policies. The position also participates in the SWSLHD Performance Management and Development Program and demonstrates competence within granted clinical privileges. Other responsibilities include attending and supporting administrative meetings, complying with the NSW Health Code of Conduct, and adhering to all relevant NSW Health, SWSLHD, and facility policies and procedures.

The services provided include prevention, early intervention, and health promotion programs designed to help individuals and families adopt healthy behaviours and avoid illness. The team works in partnership with the community to create health-promoting physical and social environments, ensuring accessible, fair, and culturally appropriate services.

* Current medical practitioner, registered, or eligible for registration, with the Medical Board of Australia and Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Surgeons and/or other specialist recognition as provided under the Health Insurance Act 1973. Full membership of BreastSurgANZ preferred.
* Demonstrated current clinical practice of a high standard and ability to adapt clinical practice in accordance with contemporary evidence based best practice.
* Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and risk management.
* Demonstrated participation in teaching and training at undergraduate and/or post graduate level, including supervision of junior medical staff.
* Demonstrated commitment to continuing self-education and development, including evidence of participation in continuing medical education/ continuing professional development.
* Demonstrated ability to comply with the service objectives of a public health organisation, including the provision of services to the local community, effective utilisation of resources, and preparedness to participate in the provision of health services at an LHD level.
* Evidence of ability to work cooperatively with other staff and practitioners and in a multidisciplinary health care team.
* Demonstrated understanding and willingness to comply with the requirements of the BreastScreen Australia National Accreditation Standards (NAS).
