Accountant Role at Gilmour Space
We are seeking a skilled Senior Accountant to join our innovative team.
The role involves:
* Managing internal management accounting reports related to Government grants and departmental performance.
* Coordinating treasury aspects of Government grants for dedicated projects.
* Monitoring budgets, communicating actual spend against budgets and taking necessary actions to ensure compliance with corporate and grant requirements.
* Conducting cost-benefit analysis on strategic asset acquisition.
* Performing detailed cost accounting and reporting of production costs, identifying areas for improvement.
* Overseeing Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions, supervising staff members in these roles.
* Providing general assistance in the Finance Department on accounting matters.
* Other duties as requested by the Chief Financial Officer / Financial Controller.
Mandatory Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
* Proven experience in budgetary control and bookkeeping, including handling accounts payable and exercising initiative.
* Strong financial analysis skills.
* NV1 Security Clearance eligibility is preferred.
Desired Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
* 5-10 years of experience in management accounting.
* The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Experience with Xero or similar systems is an advantage.
