The administrative officer is responsible for the provision of efficient and effective administrative support for all areas within Patient Services as required and rostered on a 7 day per week 24-hour roster in Emergency Reception, Information Desk, Urgent Admissions, Elective Bookings and Switchboard roles.

Key Responsibilities

* Friendly and professional reception of patients, visitors and Staff entering Calvary Mater Hospital.
* Accurate registration for the Emergency Department, Admissions, Discharges and Transfers.
* Health Fund and Medicare checks.
* Answering all calls within the switchboard in a friendly and professional manner.

What you bring

* Demonstrated experience in administrative roles, with well‐developed computer skills, preferably within a health care or clinical environment.
* Demonstrated knowledge of medical terminology and the ability to accurately interpret and manage clinical and administrative information.
* Willingness and capacity to work shift work, with flexibility to adapt to short‐notice changes in roster requirements when operationally required.
* Excellent communication, customer service and interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated ability to manage sensitive, confidential and complex situations with professionalism and discretion.
* A genuine desire to join and contribute to a collaborative team committed to the care of others within a mission‐based organisation, aligned with Calvary's values.

* Casual
* Salary Classification: Admin Officer Level 3 Yr 1-2.
* Remuneration: $35.84 to $36.96 per hour + superannuation + annual leave loading + salary packaging options.
