About the opportunity
As Australia’s newest uranium producer, we’re growing and looking for a Processing Leading Hand to join our team at the Honeymoon mine site in South Australia.
Reporting to and working closely with the Production Supervisor, you’ll provide direction and support to the production team to achieve production targets safely and efficiently.
You’ll ensure the team has the resources to safely complete tasks and coach, develop and upskill them through the regular rotation of jobs and provision of on-the-job training.
You’re a proven leader, with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to motivate and develop a positive and accountable environment.
You understand and have experienced the demands of working on a FIFO basis in remote locations in extreme conditions.
We’re a small site and your ability to work well in a team and collaborate with other departments to optimise plant performance is essential.
The role will be FIFO from Adelaide or Port Augusta direct to site on an 8:6 rotating roster.
In terms of specific responsibilities, you will:
- Oversee the daily activities conducted by team to achieve production targets.
- Ensure compliance with safety, health, environment and radiation management plans.
- Coordinate, manage and schedule work ensuring equipment/resources are efficiently utilised.
- Work with the supervisor to coordinate production schedules dayshift and nightshift.
- Liaise with Wellfield team to ensure wellfields are operating to set points and balances.
- Monitor product quality and communicate changes to the supervisor.
- Identify maintenance issues and liaise with Maintenance team to ensure timely resolution to minimise production downtime.
- Act as the Production Supervisor when as required.
- Implement and ensure lockout procedure is performed as applicable.
About You
What you’ll need:
- Extensive experience in a process setting within the mining industry.
- In-situ-recovery (ISR) uranium mining experience (preferable.)
- Proven leadership experience.
- Basic computer literacy (MS Outlook, Word and Excel)
- A sound understanding of production equipment, process flows, control systems and instrumentation.
- Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyse and troubleshoot complex plant issues.
- A valid Australian driver’s license, with the ability to drive a manual vehicle.
- Experience handling hazardous reagents.
While not essential, the following qualifications, tickets and licenses will be highly regarded:
- HR license
- Backhoe
- Completion of TLID0021 Store and handle dangerous goods and hazardous substances
- Certificate III in Process Plant Operations PMA30120
