The Eromanga Natural History Museum (ENHM), governed by the Outback Gondwana Foundation (OGF), is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to discovering, conserving, and showcasing the rich natural and cultural history of the upper Murray/Darling and Lake Eyre/Cooper basins.
Based in South West Queensland, ENHM conducts significant research and preservation of important fossil sites, featuring discoveries such as dinosaurs, megafauna, and rare species of living invertebrates.

Role Description
This is a full-time, on-site role based in Eromanga, QLD.
The Operations Manager will oversee the daily operations of the Eromanga Natural History Museum, including staff coordination, facility management, and operational planning.
Key responsibilities include ensuring the smooth execution of museum activities, managing budgets, supervising onsite tours and events, and implementing strategies to enhance visitor experience.
The role also involves maintaining compliance with health and safety regulations and fostering partnerships with stakeholders in the community and scientific fields.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee visitor services, front-of-house, and customer experience
Coordinate events, programs, and community engagement activities
Manage facilities, maintenance, WHS compliance, and operational budgets
Support construction planning and transition readiness for new facilitiesLead and develop a small team of staff and volunteers
Identify and implement new tourism product opportunities
Selection Criteria
Demonstrated experience in operational management within museums, tourism, or visitor services
Strong leadership and staff supervision skills
Knowledge of WHS and operational safety systems
Budgeting and financial management experience
Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
Ability to work effectively in a remote/regional environment
Knowledge of paleotourism or natural history visitor services
