St James Catholic College, a Kindergarten to Year 10 co‑educational College located in the picturesque township of Cygnet in the Huon Valley is seeking applications from suitably qualified, innovative and enthusiastic teachers for the following positions :

English / Drama Teacher

1.0 FTE Limited Tenure

2 February 2026 to 18 December 2026

(Leave Replacement)

Music & Religious Education Teacher

1.0 FTE Limited Tenure

2 February 2026 to 17 April 2026


Key Responsibilities

* Be committed to the aims and philosophy of Catholic Education.
* Continually develop positive relationships with all members of the community.
* Be active, collaborative, authentic, professional and a relational member of a Catholic School community.
* To develop and support a school culture that empowers students to think critically, discern wisely, and value the search for truth.
* Openly and honestly enter into dialogue with the Principal and Leadership Team with relevant issues where necessary and appropriate.
* Actively engage and encourage parents to be involved in their child's education through a variety of opportunities.
* Be willing to participate fully in the life of the school.


Essential Requirements

* Have appropriate qualifications for the position
* Hold current WWVP employment registration
* Hold current registration to teach in Tasmania

Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience and in accordance with the Tasmanian Catholic Education Single Enterprise Agreement 2024.
