Overview
Position based in the School of Physics, Chemistry and Earth Sciences, City East Campus. Full‐time (1.0 FTE) continuing position. Salary range: (Level B) $114,917 – $135,932 + 17% superannuation. Teach and research in physical chemistry with a focus on computational or theoretical chemistry.
Responsibilities
In this role you will contribute to teaching and research within a dynamic, internationally recognised chemistry grouping. You will deliver instruction in physical, computational, and theoretical chemistry to undergraduate and Honours students, supervise Honours, Masters of Research, and PhD students, and help develop the next generation of researchers.
You will establish and maintain a strong research profile in physical chemistry, with a focus on computational and theoretical approaches, supported by a high‐quality publication record. A central aspect of the role is the development of a robust, externally funded research program, including securing competitive grants from national funding bodies and industry partners.
You will play an active role in fostering and strengthening research collaborations across the University and with national and international partners, including industry.
Qualifications & Experience
* PhD in Chemistry
* Demonstrated research excellence and interest in physical chemistry with a focus on computational or theoretical chemistry, including an excellent publication record relative to career stage, in highly regarded scientific journals.
* Ability to develop an independent research program, and to establish and maintain research links with other research groups locally, nationally and/or internationally.
* Teaching experience in chemical sciences at the undergraduate level.
* Evidence of engagement with the broader chemistry and scientific community.
* Strong verbal and written communication, organisational, time management, intercultural and interpersonal skills.
