North Lake Senior Campus offers an alternative pathway for Year 11 and Year 12 education catering to students beyond the compulsory age of 18 in Western Australia. This is a permanent part-time (0.8FTE) position commencing Term 1, 2026.

The Role
We are looking for a suitably qualified Design and Technology teacher with the capacity to plan, deliver and monitor senior school WACE Design and Technology courses with a focus on photography, metalwork and woodwork. The successful applicant should have the necessary qualifications and experience and ideally appreciate fostering student engagement within an adult teaching and learning environment. Our student body includes a wide range of ages, backgrounds and experiences, including individuals who have faced trauma, students for whom English is a second or additional language, high academic level repeat learners, mature-aged students and students with interrupted schooling experiences. We are committed to meeting the diverse wellbeing and learning needs of all our students.
Success in this position hinges on employing a strategic, goal-oriented teaching methodology that fosters active learning and critical thinking, while providing support and encouragement in a safe learning environment. Effective collaboration within and across teams is important. The campus requires strong interpersonal and emotional intelligence across the school community, including collaboration with parents and community stakeholders to ensure the best possible educational outcomes for students.
The successful applicant will engage in ongoing reflection of teaching methods and course planning to build a culture of continued improvement. The applicant should exhibit proficiency in a variety of instructional approaches, including trauma-informed practices, effective classroom management, and restorative practices. * be an Australian or New Zealand citizen, permanent resident or have a valid visa with work rights for the term of the appointment

* consent to a Nationally Coordinated Criminal History Check and obtain a current Screening Clearance Number issued by the Department of Education's Screening Unit before you start
