Responsibilities
- Lead and direct an appropriate and safe standard of care within a multidisciplinary team for all patients within the Unit.
- Monitor and manage the business and management functions and processes of the ward or unit.
- As the leader of the unit, the NUM will demonstrate their capability through attitude, skills, behaviour, and attributes.
- Demonstrate broad nursing/midwifery experience and knowledge.
- Understand and accept that patients are the central focus of service delivery.
- Demonstrate professional integrity; ethical conduct, accountability, advocacy, enabling others.
- Cultivation of collaborative relationships and effective teamwork.

How to apply
To be considered, please address the selection criteria in your application:
- Current NMBA registration as a Registered Nurse (Division 1)
- Postgraduate qualification in leadership/management (or willingness to work towards within 12 months) and extensive experience in emergency nursing
- Motivational leadership, interpersonal and communication skills with coaching, negotiation, and conflict resolution abilities
- Ability to set priorities and achieve objectives
- Experience in creating and maintaining a positive workplace culture and leading nursing services in critical care
- Focus on service excellence and the ability to apply professional expertise to enhance patient care
- Ability to manage human, physical and financial resources to deliver safe, efficient care
- Innovation, self-direction in clinical practice, and commitment to continuous quality improvement
