Primary objective
Lead the development of communication and marketing strategies for the Office of the ICAC including the delivery of community
engagement through social media, education and training programs. This role is expected to operate with significant autonomy and
report directly to the Director Prevention and Engagement.
Context statement
The Office of the ICAC (OICAC) is an independent statutory body established under the ICAC Act 2017. The role of the OICAC is to
prevent, detect, investigate, and respond to improper conduct by public officers, bodies and those who receive government funds, while
protecting people who assist in this role. The Prevention and Engagement team provides advice and support in media management,
marketing, website maintenance, education and training, internal and external stakeholder communications, issues management and
strategic communications policy.
Key duties and responsibilities
1. Develop and implement innovative and effective communication strategies, plans and materials to promote the initiatives and
priorities of the ICAC and Office.
2. Develop and implement marketing and public engagement strategies to effectively communicate the office programs, initiatives,
and services to diverse audiences across print, digital and social media platforms.
3. Coordinate the development, implementation, maintenance and evaluation of digital and media communications.
4. Establish and maintain sound collaborative relationships and networks with internal and external clients / stakeholders to achieve
required outcomes.
5. Represent the Office at internal and external forums / working parties as required.
Selection criteria
Essential
1. Demonstrated experience in the formulation and implementation of innovative and effective marketing and communications
strategies.
2. Demonstrated experience in the preparation of quality written documentation including media releases and internal
communications.
3. Demonstrated experience in website development and / or maintenance.
4. Demonstrated experience in the effective use of social media platforms as a marketing and communications tool.
5. Demonstrated experience working collaboratively with a range of stakeholders to meet agreed outcomes.
Desirable
1. Degree in journalism, marketing or communications.
2. Experience in the development and delivery of training programs.
