We now have an opportunity available for early career or established Academic to join our team within the College of Business, Law and Governance as a Lecturer/Senior Lecturer, Law.

* Full-time and continuing
* Academic Level B - $112,810 - $133,110 or Academic Level C $137,166 – $157,465 per annum plus up to 17% employer superannuation contributions, leave loading and other generous employee benefits
* Based at the Townsville Bebegu Yumba campus, Douglas
* Level of appointment and remuneration will be commensurate with qualifications and experience.
About the College of Business, Law and Governance

The College of Business, Law and Governance (CBLG) delivers a range of future-focused business and law courses across Cairns, Singapore, Townsville and Brisbane. Under the leadership of the Acting Dean, Associate Professor Jamie Fellows, the College promotes, fosters, and delivers quality teaching and research with both a local and global reach.

Formed in 2014, a primary emphasis of the College is on developing leaders who are equipped with an understanding of the complexities of doing business and undertaking professional practices as are directly relevant to the ever-evolving Asia Pacific region.

What you can accomplish in the role

Lecturer/Senior Lecturer Law will work to strengthen, develop and advance the discipline of Law at James Cook University, and will do so by pursuing scholarship and enthusiastically contributing to teaching, research including research supervision and service to the University and the community. The incumbent will engage primarily as needed in undergraduate and postgraduate law course and subject design, development and teaching; conduct research activity that aligns with institutional priorities; and perform other academic and service tasks as required.

Selection Criteria
* Attainment of a PhD qualification in law (or cognate discipline) or equivalent research with substantial professional and practice experience;
* Proven capability to plan, prepare and deliver high-quality teaching and supervision in law at undergraduate and postgraduate levels across all modes of delivery;
* A demonstrated record of success in teaching online and demonstrated commitment to and enthusiasm for the application and integration of new technologies in teaching and learning;
* Demonstrated ability to inspire and engage the interest and enthusiasm of students, coupled with demonstrated capacity to innovate across a variety of learning technologies, diverse learning modes and environments;
* A record of scholarly and professional achievement in a relevant discipline area, including peer reviewed publications and professional and tangible research-related accomplishments;
* Commitment to and ability to articulate and advance a sustained future research program and funding plan that aligns with the College areas of established and developing research, priorities for law and/or intersection with areas of College or University research strength, coupled with demonstrated potential to attract research funding and participate in entrepreneurial activity such as short-course delivery, consultancy etc;
* Demonstrated capacity to successfully supervise research students at an honours or postgraduate level;
* Excellent interpersonal skills and enthusiasm for working effectively within a team environment, supporting collegiality and cohesion in teaching, research, engagement and service;
* Understanding of equity and diversity principles and of occupational health and safety responsibilities and commitment to attending relevant training.
