This is a permanent full-time position commencing Term 3, 2025
Melville Senior High School (SHS) is a vibrant multi-cultural school which aims to provide students with a world class educational experience. The Role
The successful applicant should possess an excellent knowledge of the Western Australian Curriculum and be able to teach students of varying ability levels across Years 7 to 12, including the Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) Mathematics, in a dynamic and highly engaging manner. Experience in delivering all levels of Mathematics, including Mathematics Methods and Specialist courses is highly desirable, however we encourage all graduate and experienced teachers to apply for this position.
Ideally, the successful applicant will be an innovative, dedicated and highly motivated educator with the ability to develop high quality teaching and learning programs to meet the needs of our students. Strong knowledge and skills in being able to lead and embed numeracy strategies are valued, as is the ability to integrate innovative and engaging Information and Communication Technology (ICT) into classroom learning, and implement instructional strategies that develop analytical, inquiry and critical thinking skills.
The successful applicant will ideally be highly committed and collaborative and possess a strong ability to work effectively with our dedicated Mathematics team. The successful applicant will actively participate in ongoing professional learning opportunities and continually reflect on their own teaching practice to enhance student engagement and to sustain a culture of high-quality teaching. They will work in collaboration with the Head of Learning Area and the Mathematics team to lead strategies and identified initiatives in Mathematics that continue to drive a culture of ongoing improvement in relation to student engagement, classroom teaching and student performance across Years 7 to 12.
