The City of Monash seeks a Casual Gym Instructor & Personal Trainer to work at its Active Monash Leisure Centres located in Glen Waverley, Clayton and Oakleigh.
Responsibilities
* Deliver gym instruction and personal training sessions, ensuring safe and effective exercise guidance
* Conduct health screenings, fitness assessments and goal‐setting with members
* Educate participants on correct exercise technique and injury prevention
* Maintain a clean, safe and welcoming training environment
* Promote professional behaviour and positive member experiences, supporting engagement and retention
* Assist with group fitness, personal training and community programs that align with the qualifications of a Gym Instructor and Personal Trainer
Qualifications & Experience
* Certificate III & IV in Fitness (or equivalent combination of experience and training)
* Experience providing fitness assistance to a diverse community and conducting health screenings and fitness assessments
* Ability to design safe, effective and goal‐oriented training programmes
* Strong communication, customer service and interpersonal skills
* Demonstrated knowledge of exercise technique, injury prevention and maintaining training environments
* Reliable, punctual, self‐motivated with strong time‐management skills
* Commitment to diversity and inclusion, aligning with Active Monash vision "Participate Your Way"
* Availability for early mornings, late evenings and weekends (with occasional daytime shifts)
* Current Level 2 First Aid Certificate, Current CPR Certificate, Professional registration with AUSActive
