**About the role**
McConnell Dowell Constructors (Aust.) Pty Ltd are currently recruiting for experienced Contracts Administrators and Commercial Managers and to join our team located in Hobart, Tasmania.

**Some of the responsibilities of our Contracts Administrators and Commercial Managers include**:
- Effective and consistent implementation of the Company's commercial policies and procedures.
- Support the Project Team in the identification and addressing of commercial risks in a timely manner and where applicable, the co-ordination and direction to the Business Unit's legal counsel.
- Attend and assist in commercial resolution with clients, contractors or consultants as applicable. Prepare internal management reports and reports on dispute status.
- Assist in the preparation and development of joint venture documentation, pre-bid agreements and memoranda of understanding (MOU's) on an as needs basis.
- Assist in the preparation of subcontractor and consultant contract forms ensuring appropriate forms and commercial terms are duly incorporated and provide advice accordingly.
- Undertake the commercial aspects of contract negotiations and disputes with the Project Manager and Subcontractors as applicable
- Overview and critique tender submissions for exposure to adverse terms and conditions including detailed and following up internal reviews, front-end negotiations with prospective clients as required so as to achieve acceptable contractual close out.
- Ensure that all subcontracts, supply and services contracts are procured, executed, delivered and closed out, in accordance with Company commercial policies and guidelines.
- Undertake timely and accurate preparation of the monthly cost reporting and forecasting.
- Liaising effectively with site engineers and supervisors to ensure all relevant information in relation to variations and extension of time claims is captured.
**About your capability, behaviours and experience**:
- Relevant Tertiary Qualifications.
- Experience as a quantity surveyor.
- Demonstrated ability to assess claims or variations by Subcontractors against the quantity claimed as well as against their contractual requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to analyse contractual issues and provide and/or recommend solutions through appropriate problem-solving techniques.
- Knowledge and understanding of tendering, procurement and construction processes.
- Knowledge and understanding of subcontract principles, together with the ability to draft and administer subcontracts.
- Hold valid work rights
