Play a pivotal role in supporting ASIC in ensuring high standards of corporate governance, conduct and disclosure across the Australian market.

* Location – Adelaide, Brisbane Melbourne, Perth or Sydney
* Salary range – $152,074~$168,164 (depending on experience) plus 15.4% superannuation
* Up to 3 positions available – 1 permanent role, 2 temporary roles (12 months)

The team
The Companies, Registered Liquidators and Small Business team is responsible for ASIC's regulation and supervision of companies, registered liquidators and small businesses. The team ensures sector adherence to the laws administered by ASIC and promotes market integrity. This role sits within the companies function, focusing on corporate governance, conduct and disclosure issues, including compliance by directors with their duties. The team conducts proactive surveillance, considers applications for relief from legislative requirements, supports regulatory reform, and engages with stakeholders to address current and emerging industry issues.

The role
As a Senior Analyst/Lawyer, You Will Be Accountable For

* Leading risk-based supervision projects to ensure adherence with the law and promote better outcomes for investors, consumers and markets.
* Conducting thematic reviews and surveillances to identify regulatory issues and propose solutions that enhance consumer, investor and market outcomes.
* Assessing applications for relief from legislation to ensure quality outcomes that are legally sound and consistent with ASIC policy.
* Managing sector engagement initiatives and building relationships with stakeholders, including industry bodies and government agencies.
* Collaborating with the leadership team to develop sector strategy and priorities, and implement effective regulatory strategies.

About You

You Will Have

* A relevant tertiary qualification (e.g., law, commerce, arts, public policy).
* Experience relating to regulation, public policy, and/or corporate governance.
* Understanding of the sector and knowledge of legislation relevant to the sector (including the Corporations Act).
* Demonstrated ability to deliver strategic priorities through stakeholder engagement and innovative solutions.
* Superior writing and drafting skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and persuasively.
