We currently operate from 2 sites, QLD & Tasmania and have the following positions available: FARM MANAGER, LOCKYER VALLEY QLD
About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Farm manager, a reliable and motivated self-starter with an ambitious attitude, to join our dedicated team at FreshGro. On offer is permanent year-round employment working in the farming sector, being a part of a fast-developing, growing company. The successful applicant will be able to work towards KPIs and have a can-do attitude. You will be leading a team of staff, so excellent leadership skills will be required to be successful in this role. There will be some low-level reporting on budgets and KPIs required. The manager is responsible for keeping workers on task and ensuring the product is properly grown, harvested, and distributed. This is an exciting opportunity to build your teams and be involved nationally in a fast-growing business.
You MUST have farming and growing experience.
Skills & Experience
* Minimum two years of experience within the horticultural industry.
* Comfortable using Excel and Word
* Physically fit with a hands-on attitude, Healthy and free from alcohol and drugs.
* Must have the ability to forward plan and communicate this to all staff, build teams, run crews, and source labour.
* Budgeting/meeting set budgets.
* Supervise and coordinate daily harvests.
* Planting, fert, pest/disease programs and harvest coordination.
* Willing to work flexible hours and ability to work some weekends during peak harvest times and heavy demand periods.
* Proven experience in farm management, horticulture, or large-scale agricultural operations.
* Strong leadership and decision-making skills with the ability to manage competing priorities.
* Knowledge of WHS, food safety, and compliance requirements in a horticultural environment.
* Operate and perform general maintenance on farm machinery and implements, irrigation systems, and other equipment.
* Expectation of compliance in Food Safety standards within the 'Freshcare' Code of Practice. (This is a strong requirement and must be demonstrated at an interview).

* Chemical Accreditation (ChemCert)
* Knowledge and experience in harvesting salad leaf crops.
* Valid forklift license
* Training will be provided to a successful applicant without these qualifications.
