Role Summary
As a Forest and Fire Operations Officer (FFOO) – Technical Lead, you will manage work groups and oversee operational tasks and fire prevention activities in Victoria's state forests, national parks and protected public land. Your expertise and coordination skills will ensure the effectiveness of our workcentres and help achieve our mission of environmental preservation and public safety.
Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate work groups in operational and fire prevention activities.
- Oversee tasks related to forest management, planned burning operations and emergency response.
- Ensure the ongoing effectiveness and output of workcentres across diverse terrains.
- Collaborate with teams to meet environmental conservation and public safety objectives.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Current manual Driver's Licence (conditions A, I or V not acceptable).
- Demonstrated experience in bushfire response or forest operations.
- Knowledge of natural resource management, with a focus on forest management and operations.
- Ability to achieve a competent result in the DEECA General Firefighter accreditation.
- Corresponding work rights for the advertised employment period – appointment available only to Australian/New Zealand citizens or Australian Permanent Residents.
