Job Description An opportunity exists for an experienced Underground Mine Manager to join the senior leadership team at our Grosvenor mine in Moranbah in this key role. You will be accountable for upholding statutory compliance in relation to safety and health obligations for underground mining activities at the mine. As part of the leadership team, you will work in collaboration with senior management to implement an effective safety culture across the business units. Some of your responsibilities will include: Coordinate the compliance activities and resources to mine coal safely, optimally, and in accordance with the mine plan. Ensure full compliance with Qld Coal Mining Safety & Health Act & Regulations Complete statutory testing and inspections, in accordance with the CMS&H Act, Regulations & Mine Inspection Identify safety and compliance issues that have the potential to cause significant loss and assist in the development of action plans for reduced exposure. Review the crew leaders statutory reports with the Undermanager's to identify all non-compliances & corrective action taken to rectify issues; Create and implement rolling monthly plans that optimize the coal production performance of the Lead the implementation and ensure compliance with safety systems, practices, behaviours and develop a proactive safety culture. Ensure that the mine meets all statutory obligations. Build, lead and develop the team to deliver departmental plans and continuous improvement objectives. Business partnering with key stakeholders to deliver constructive relationships, developing and leading diverse teams to drive measurable and sustainable change. Help the organisation transition to new, improved ways of working, resulting in successful business outcomes. The role will be challenging and varied as you facilitate the management of key safety projects driving the success of our Elimination of Fatalities Plan along with our Safety Reset Action Plans, through the leadership of a team of people, where the focus is on safety and operational excellence. There is the parallel requirement to be an effective team member, working in collaboration with other Site Leadership Team members on whole of site matters and implementation of the site strategy to achieve Grosvenor's goals. Qualifications Queensland (1st Class) Certificate of Competence or NSW Certificate with Mutual Recognition is essential. Previous experience in a similar position within an underground mining operation Demonstrated commitment to safety with previous experience in identifying risks and implementing safe working practices Strong legislative knowledge with respect to the QLD Coal Mining Safety Act Excellent stakeholder management skills with an ability to influence up and down the line Experience in driving best practices through your department and into the business in line with business goals. A thorough understanding of key safety risks in underground mining operations and appropriate corrective actions Ability to understand functionality of business systems and extract relevant data for business purposes Possess exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills and, you will possess relevant tertiary qualifications in health and safety or a related discipline.
