About the role
As a Continuous Improvement Specialist, you will drive strategic business improvements, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence across the university. You will support the Associate Director in continuous improvement initiatives, providing expert guidance and coaching to senior leaders and staff. This role offers the opportunity to implement advanced service and process improvement methodologies, ensuring long‐lasting impact and value.
Your responsibilities will include:
* Drive business improvement capability: Lead the development and implementation of advanced business, service, and process improvement methodologies. Provide expert guidance and coaching to senior leaders and staff across the university, ensuring the adoption of best practices and continuous improvement aligned to the CI program roadmap and maturity targets through to 2027.
* Lead business improvement initiatives: Lead high‐impact business improvement projects within a productivity improvement and value creation program from problem definition through to implementation, benefits realisation and handover, enhancing University processes, service delivery, operating models, and governance frameworks and delivering measurable value for students, academics and staff.
* Embed sustainable improvements: Champion and implement strategic business improvements that align with the university's commitment to continuous improvement, ensuring improvements are embedded, measured and owned by the business beyond initial delivery.
* Develop and deliver training: Design, develop, and deliver tailored training programmes in business improvement methodologies to enhance university‐wide capability, supporting the progressive uplift of CI maturity over the life of the program.
Who we are looking for
You will be an experienced improvement professional with a passion for innovation, capable of leading strategic initiatives, developing and delivering training and fostering a high‐performing, collaborative environment to drive excellence within the university.
You will also:
* Possess qualifications in Lean, Six Sigma, BPM or related fields.
* Have extensive experience in service, process and business improvement.
* Demonstrate strong analytical, communication and stakeholder management skills.
* Exhibit a growth mindset with empathy, curiosity and resilience.
* Be committed to continuous improvement and innovation.
This role requires the successful candidate to undergo and maintain an up‐to‐date Working with Children Check. If a candidate does not have a valid WWCC, they may apply for one as part of initial onboarding.

You will join the Enterprise Services Group within the Chief Operating Officer Portfolio. Our group partners across the University to design, evaluate and improve services that enable teaching and research. Within the Service Experience and Improvement team, you will shape service models and experiences for students and staff. You will collaborate with specialists in data, transformation and design, in a supportive, curious and outcomes‐focused culture.
