Casual, part‐time role based in Port Augusta, SA.
Shift Schedule
* Tues‐Thu: 7:00 pm – 10:30 pm
* Fri‐Sat: 6:00 pm – 2:30 am
About the Role
The Salvation Army Youth Services is looking for a proactive, compassionate, and motivated Outreach Worker to join our Port Augusta crew. The role reports to the Team Leader and is part of the Port Augusta Youth Safe Transport Service (PAYSTS), providing late‐evening outreach, safe transport, and mentoring to young people aged 5‐18 who may be at risk or in unsafe situations. This casual, part‐time role includes the late‐evening and night shifts listed above.
How You Will Make An Impact
* Connect with at‐risk Aboriginal and non‐Aboriginal young people, providing a safe, supportive presence.
* Provide safe transport to homes, services, or places of safety.
* Build genuine, respectful relationships that empower young people to make their own choices.
* Support young people to access services and advocate on their behalf.
* Mentor young people by guiding, listening, and supporting them through challenges.
* Work within the Youth Services Model of Care to support positive outcomes.
* Continually assess risk, safety, and wellbeing.
* Maintain accurate case notes, records, and reports.
* Support group activities that build life skills and community connection.
* Build strong relationships with local community stakeholders.
What You Will Bring
* Current Driver's Licence.
* Current Employee Working with Children's Check.
* First Aid Certificate (or willingness to obtain).
* Through Their Eyes (Reporting Abuse and Neglect) training.
* Experience in community services, youth work, or similar fields is highly desired.
