About the role
In this role you will be responsible for ensuring locomotives, rail cars, wagons, plant, and infrastructure are repaired and maintained to the required standard of safety and reliability to ensure the efficient running of freight services.
- To conduct routine and corrective maintenance and fault repair in accordance with the prescribed methods and best practice
- Ensure all work is performed in accordance with Workplace Health and Safety (WH&S;) requirements and legislative policies, and technical and operational specifications.
- Maintain all records and associated documentation relating to asset condition, maintenance programs and costing systems.
- Report actual work performed against the scheduled work program.
- Progress the implementation and application of work procedures and practices in pursuit of ensuring quality improvement.
About you
- Electrical licence (mandatory)
- Locomotive and wagon experience is desirable but not essential as training will be provided.
- Excellent interpersonal communication skills
- Demonstrated experience repairing and maintaining locomotives and rolling stock would be highly regarded.
- Strong fault finding and troubleshooting experience, with solid ability to interpret schematics and technical drawings.
- Demonstrated knowledge of relevant legislation, regulations and instructions including the Workplace Health and Safety Act
Successful candidates will be required to undergo a category one rail medical, which include drug and alcohol screening.
