Job Title: Launch Master
Australian Helicopter Pilot School Pty Limited is seeking a full-time Launch Master to join our team.
The successful candidate will be responsible for performing launch master duties and maintenance in our workshop. Key responsibilities include:
1. Assisting the Cairns Manager in overseeing the safe, reliable, timely, and cost-effective use of company resources for pilot transfers.
2. Communicating with our Brisbane operations team, launch crew, and marine pilots.
3. Ensuring compliance with Australian Helicopter Pilot School Pty Limited procedures and Safety Management System (SMS), including fatigue management, launch operations, crew training, and safety drills.
4. Monitoring SMS documentation for compliance, maintaining launch logs and maintenance records, and ensuring proper recording of crew safety inductions and drills.
This role involves a 10 days on / 4 days off roster. We offer a competitive remuneration package and 6 weeks of annual leave.
Requirements:
* Master Class 5 (unrestricted ticket)
* M.E.D 2
* Current Senior First Aid with CPR
* Short Range Operator Certificate of Proficiency (SROCP)
* Current Driver's Licence

* Proven vessel handling skills and experience
* Preferred engineering knowledge and abilities
* Flexibility to work day and night shifts, as marine pilotage is 24/7
* Ability to follow AMSA and NSCV standards
* Effective communication with management regarding vessel performance and safety issues
* Technical support skills
* Organizational skills, attention to detail, and multitasking ability
* Teamwork and positive attitude under pressure
