About the role
MKR Constructions PTY LTD is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Apprentice Carpenter to join our team in Ipswich, Queensland. This full-time position is an excellent opportunity to kick-start your career in the carpentry industry working 4 day weeks Monday - Thursday 6am - 4pm, every Friday off meaning a 3 day weekend, EVERY WEEKEND
What you'll be doing
* Assisting experienced carpenters in the construction and installation of structures, fittings and fixtures
* Learning carpentry techniques and safe work practices on the job
* Reading and interpreting technical drawings and specifications
* Operating power tools and hand tools safely and correctly
* Carrying out general labouring duties as required
* Participating in training and obtaining relevant certifications
What we're looking for
* A passion for carpentry and construction work
* Good problem-solving skills and attention to detail
* Strong communication and teamwork abilities
* Willingness to learn and follow instructions
* Physically fit and able to perform manual labour tasks
* Previous experience or exposure to the construction industry is desirable but not essential
* Australian citizenship is required for this apprentice position
* Candidates must be 17 years of age or older as a license and vehicle is required
* Must hold a provisional licence as a minimum driving requirement
* White Card (Construction Induction Training) must be obtained before commencing the apprenticeship
