Gardener/ Greenkeeper
Maitland City Council has an exciting opportunity within our Recreation team for a skilled and reliable Gardener/ Greenkeeper, to help maintain and improve our City appearance.
About the role:
In this role, our Gardener / Greenkeepers provide expertise in the areas of gardening, turf maintenance, landscaping services and will help to maintain leisure, active and passive open spaces throughout our community.
You will operate relevant plant and equipment, including mowers, tractors and whipper snippers to maintain the spaces, install and repair irrigation systems and undertake general gardening and greenkeeping duties.
We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic individual who will demonstrate a strong focus on safety and an eagerness to work within a supportive and growing team.
About you:
To be successful in this role you will hold a Certificate III in Horticulture or related discipline and hold contemporary industry knowledge with demonstrated experience in general gardening, grounds and turf maintenance and landscaping practices.
You will be a productive and reliable team member, with a strong safety mindset, good interpersonal skills, and a commitment to delivering quality service to the community.
You will also hold an MR licence.
Whilst not essential, a HR drivers licence and traffic control tickets would be highly regarded.
Benefits:
This is a full-time, permanent role working a 38-hour week, with a base salary range of $63,127 to $70,071 per year based on demonstrated competencies + allowances + 12% super.
