THE ROLE
Applications are sought from experienced Open Pit Senior Mine Geologists to join the team at Ora Banda.
Responsibilities
* Coordinate all geological activities for the mining operation and in particular grade control
* Supervision of ore zone mining - maximising recovery, minimising dilution
* Oversee all haulage activities with the haulage contractor, including managing of all active OBM MOPs.
* Manage daily haulage and monthly haulage plans, as well as liaison with 3rdparty toll treatment operations.
* Oversee daily production master reporting and linkage to power bi.
* Supervision and Management of RC grade control drilling programs
* 3D interpretation of RCGC data, generating Grade Control models for mine planning as per the mine schedule
* Maintaining and implementing QA/QC procedures in the areas of data collection, sampling, sample preparation and production data
* Maintain production database
* Develop and oversee stockpile management procedures and reporting.
* Ensure all benches and walls are mapped, information used for development of 3D geological models
* Oversee high quality technical reporting in the compilation of daily grade reports, weekly and monthly production reports that track production against targets and provide inputs essential for monthly production and reconciliation processes
* Assist with ground control, dewatering, engineering/planning and surveying requirements
* Participate in Geology Department and control systems development
* Liaise with Mine Production personnel and drilling contractor to coordinate drilling activities in the open pit
* Provide technical and management support for the site management team
* Contribute to short and long-term planning
* Training and mentoring of Mine Geologists and Pit Technicians
* Other duties as required

ABOUT YOU
To be considered for the role, you will have the following qualifications, skills and experience:
* Bachelor Science (Geology)
* Member AusIMM or similar
* Recent relevant experience including open pit gold mining
* Minimum 7 years experience in a similar role
* Skilled in mining software -Leapfrog, Deswik, agisoft
* Exposure to current grade control technologies and practices
* Planning and organisational skills
* Demonstrable team working skills
* Good communication skills
* Awareness of the Mine Safety and Inspection Act & Regulations
* Knowledge of relevant environmental legislation
* Class C WA manual driver's licence
