* Competitive Salary: Annual base salary from $71,448.00, including uniform and laundry allowance.

Tullawon Health Service offers a wide range of essential services, including primary health care, aged care, social services, and emergency response, ensuring the improvement of the wellbeing and health of the residents in this remote region.
Position Summary
The primary function of the Payroll Officer & HR Assistant is to make accurate payments to employees of Tullawon Health Service Inc. by calculating earnings or deductions following established practices and guidelines. They will also follow up on pay queries and produce the information required for employees to know their remaining leave balances. Secondarily they will assist the Human Resources General Manager in the Human Resources space, undertaking tasks where required.
Key Responsibilities
Payroll
* Collect, compile, and enter payroll data into the payroll software
* Update paper and electronic payroll records by entering adjustments on pay rates, employee status changes, paid hours, etc.
* Change employee banking records when necessary to process payments accurately or as requested by the employee.
* Maintain and update superannuation with the preferred supplier and Australian Tax Office
* Verify timekeeping records and consult supervisors of the employees about any discrepancies.
* Calculate pay according to hours worked, incorporating leaves and overtime into the payroll system and ensure that pays are processed every Tuesday by COB on a fortnightly basis.
* Process time-sensitive payments for employees that occur outside of the standard pay process; including cash outs, late timesheets, or adjustments to pay
* Record employee complaints, questions, and concerns about payroll services and communicate those issues to your supervisor.
* Investigate and resolve any discrepancies in payroll
* Maintains employee confidence and protects payroll operations by keeping information confidential.
* Reconcile employee deductions and maintain the deductions register.
* Update and maintain the leave register after each fortnightly pay process.
* Compile any required remittance reports after each fortnightly pay process and send them to their intended destination.
* Communicate to your supervisor and employees that have lost their program leave after the payment process as soon as possible.
* Produce an email to each employee detailing their remaining leave balances every Wednesday on a fortnightly basis.
* Assist employees with pay-related queries; including timesheets, leave accrual, and scheduled leave
* Complete requests for pay-related documents, including statements and verification
* Communicate with payroll software when required; regarding system updates and adjustments
* Communicate with Accountants when required; auditing purposes, queries, and manual payments
* Reconcile government payments for affected employees; Return to Work SA, Gallagher Basset, Paid Parental Leave, Child Support Agency, Centrelink.
* Ensure compliance with federal and state regulations and guidelines.
Human Resources (HR)
* Support the HR General Manager where needed by aiding in the following:
* Prepare, collate, and file all relevant documentation or agreements that make up an employee's personnel file.
* Review and follow-up expiry or due dates of statutory checks, qualifications, and performance management processes.
* Follow up and collect training certificates for personnel files and maintain the register of training of all employees.
* Undertake recruitment and selection processes, including job advertisements, position descriptions, interviews, employment contracts and reference checks.
* Developing, reviewing, and maintaining HR policies and procedures.
* Providing advice to employees on HR or general company processes where needed

* Must be able to pass a police check assessment.
* Must be able to provide flexible work hours.
* Willingness and availability to travel if required.
Qualifications and Experience
* Certificate IV in Payroll Administration or similar
* Current Australian driver's license
* Formal training/and or experience in Human Resources
* Currently hold a First Aid Certificate or a wiliness to obtain one within the initial 3 months of employment.
* Have experience using a computer, particularly Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook software packages.
* Have some experience with financial terms and practices.
* Able to work positively and co-operatively within a remote area team environment under demanding and time restraint circumstances
* Proven ability to communicate verbally and in writing effectively with fellow workers and professionals.
