The Opportunity
We are currently seeking an experienced Maintenance Machinist / Fabricator to join our large and busy Operations team at our Chelsea Refinery.
Working together with a diverse group of trade professionals, the key purpose of this role is to ensure that maintenance work on our sugar refinery plant is planned, scheduled and executed to industry best practice.
The primary responsibilities for this role include:
* Complete fabrication and machining tasks as planned and scheduled to a high standard of workmanship
* Support the Refinery Fitters with maintenance tasks as required
* Support the continuing improvement of maintenance plans, maintenance work instructions and management of spare parts
* Assist in managing maintenance contractors
* Actively participate in SHEQ and continuous improvement initiatives
* Support the Mechanical Maintenance Team Leaders as and when required
The successful applicant will:
* have a strong mechanical aptitude preferably in a maintenance environment
* welding experience, preferably including Mig and Tig
* be proficient in machining to tolerance using Lathes and Milling Machines
* have experience working with multiple trades in a large team
* possess strong communication skills and the ability to work cooperatively and collaboratively across a diverse team
* be able to manage areas of sole responsibility while being part of a wider team
* enjoy working in a dynamic, fast‐paced environment and adjust priorities accordingly to meet project demands
* have excellent problem‐solving abilities and a proactive approach to troubleshooting issues
* have commitment to safety guidelines, regulations, and protocols, promoting and maintaining a culture of safety in the workplace.
* be eligible to work in New Zealand immediately.
