Position Summary
Currently seeking an Overnight Duty Attendant for Friday and Saturday night. The Overnight Duty Attendant is responsible for ensuring the safety, security, and wellbeing of residents during evening and overnight hours. This role combines active duties with an on-call overnight presence, requiring a compassionate, attentive, and responsive individual who can manage emergencies, support residents, and maintain the village environment.
The position includes approximately 3–5 active working hours per shift, followed by a 10-hour inactive (sleep) period on-site, during which the attendant must remain available to respond to emergencies or resident needs.
Key Responsibilities
Resident Care & Support
* Provide caring, compassionate, and respectful support to residents at all times
* Respond promptly to resident requests, including after-hours assistance
* Deliver friendly, courteous, and professional service to enhance resident wellbeing
Emergency Response
* Provide an initial first aid response to incidents and emergencies
* Respond to nurse call alarms, fire alarms, and other urgent situations
* Escalate emergencies to appropriate services when required
Security & Safety
* Secure and monitor access to the premises during evening and overnight hours
* Conduct routine checks to ensure the safety of residents and property
* Monitor common areas to maintain a safe and comfortable environment
* Perform light cleaning and general maintenance of common areas in accordance with duty checklists
* Ensure shared spaces are tidy, functional, and welcoming
* Attend to after-hours front desk duties, including enquiries and visitor management
Administration & Reporting
* Maintain accurate and timely documentation of incidents, activities, and resident interactions
* Complete required reports and handovers for management and day staff
Shift Structure
* Active Shift: 3–5 hours of scheduled duties
* Inactive (Sleepover) Shift: 10 hours on-site with access to a private room
o Must remain on premises and available to respond to emergencies or resident needs at any time

* Reliable, responsible, and able to work independently
Qualifications & Requirements
* Current First Aid and CPR certification (essential)
* Experience in aged care, community services, hospitality, or a related field (desirable)
* Ability to work overnight shifts and remain responsive during inactive periods
* Police check and relevant clearances as required
