Job Description
We are seeking an experienced and reliable Fitter to join our Maintenance Team based at our Corio facility in Geelong.
This is a hands-on maintenance role supporting all areas of the business, including fabrication workshops, plant, machinery, and site infrastructure. You will work closely with the maintenance and operations teams to ensure equipment uptime, safe operation, and efficient production across the company.
This role suits a practical tradesperson who enjoys variety, fault-finding, and working in a fast-paced industrial environment.
Key Responsibilities
* Carry out planned and reactive mechanical maintenance across workshops and site assets
* Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair mechanical faults on plant and equipment to minimise downtime
* Perform preventative maintenance in line with maintenance schedules and OEM requirements
* Assist with installation, modification, and commissioning of plant and equipment
* Maintain accurate maintenance records and report defects or improvement opportunities
* Work safely at all times and actively participate in hazard identification and risk control
* Liaise with production teams to coordinate maintenance activities with operational requirements
Qualifications
* Mechanical Fitting Trade Qualification (Certificate III or higher)
* Proven experience in a maintenance role within manufacturing, fabrication, or heavy industry
* Strong mechanical fault-finding and problem-solving skills
* Ability to work independently and as part of a maintenance team
* Forklift and crane licences preferred (or willingness to obtain)
* Experience with preventative maintenance systems and procedures highly regarded
* Strong commitment to safety, quality, and housekeeping standards
