Job Overview
The National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) is responsible for regulating all heavy vehicles with a gross vehicle mass over 4.5 tonnes.
Our safety and compliance officers are located across New South Wales, Victoria, Tasmania, the ACT, South Australia and Queensland, working as part of a large national on-roads operations unit to monitor heavy vehicles, work with industry and apply the Heavy Vehicle National Law (HVNL).
Key Responsibilities
* Perform on-road and outdoor heavy vehicle inspection activities, including underbody inspections at interception sites.
* Provide advice, education and guidance to raise road safety awareness for heavy vehicles in the community.
* Conduct compliance and enforcement activities, including checking drivers and operators' compliance with the HVNL.
* Work as part of a team to deliver activities in accordance with relevant road transport laws, regulations and processes.

Requirements
* Demonstrated experience in delivering high customer service standards.
* Motor-vehicle open driver licence.
* Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills.
* Flexibility to work varying shift times, weekends and undertake travel.
* Commitment and passion for road safety.
* Established computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Outlook.
* High level of ethics and pragmatic approach.
