Role Description
The Principal Program Officer (SES Grants) is a temporary full-time role located in Nundah until 30 June 2026. The role entails leading and managing key programs across the grants and subsidies portfolio, including providing expert advice on policy, strategy, planning, budgeting, and governance. The Principal Program Officer will assist with meeting organisational and whole-of-government objectives regarding commitment to enhancing the SES capability, build strong partnerships, and support initiatives that make a difference in our communities.
Key accountabilities
* Manage and coordinate the development and delivery of all grants, subsidy and volunteer support programs and projects to ensure continued best practice methodologies, organisational requirements, and governance framework.
* Provide high-level advice and recommendations on key compliance and governance related issues to support the planning, process and success for all existing and future grant, subsidy and volunteer support programs.
* Manage and coordinate the monitoring and evaluation of grants, including budget and financial reporting to ensure compliance and contractual obligations and funding arrangements meet departmental and legislative requirements.
* Represent SES on working groups and committees; and manage liaison and coordination with government and non-government stakeholders in the development of programs, projects, and program policy and doctrine.
* Build and sustain partnerships and networks with internal and external stakeholders to effectively liaise and negotiate agreed outcomes on difficult and complex projects and program issues.
* Lead and manage the capability and functions of the team through effective program, projects and financial planning and management to ensure positive outcomes and deliverables are met within agreed timeframes, cost and quality.
* Promote teamwork, and provide guidance and support, through effective human resource functions and development of staff through performance, planning, training,and review.
