2 - 3 fixed term contract
- 2:1 Roster
- $160k - $180k + Super + 10% bonus + $30,000 annual allowance + 16.7% uplift

An exciting opportunity for 4 x HSE Safety Advisors to join a large scale Hydropower project on a 2 - 3 year fixed term project in regional NSW, 2:1 roster, flights, travel and accommodation paid for by the client.

This role entails providing safety guidance, coaching, and assurance to ensure that site activities conducted by the designated Principal Contractor adhere to agreed safety standards. It necessitates substantial expertise in safety auditing, risk management, incident investigation, and behavioural safety.

**Responsibilities**:

- Evaluate Contractor documentation against project requirements, including safety management plans and related procedures.
- Conduct regular site safety inspections, collaborating with Contractor representatives, to verify compliance with safety standards.
- Participate in desktop audits with the Contractor on specific safety management system elements.
- Liaise with Project Manager, Superintendent, and in office representatives to ensure adherence to Project safety management requirements.
- Coordinate and review Safety Hold Points and facilitate communication between Contractor and the site team.
- Review Contractor safety reports and incident investigations to ensure thoroughness and implementation of corrective actions.
- Foster a positive safety culture by promoting safe behaviours, identifying improvement opportunities, and sharing safety learnings.
- Provide safety support to team members and direct hire contractors, including safety training and incident investigations.

Key challenges:

- Establishing effective relationships with stakeholders to encourage innovation and ensure best practice safety management systems.
- Successfully fulfilling safety assurance responsibilities as 'Engaged Owner'.

**Requirements**:

- Minimum 10 years of safety experience, with at least 5 years in similar roles within civil construction, utilities, or related industries.
- Certification in Safety Management System Auditing and ICAM lead investigation, along with relevant experience.
- Proficiency in risk management, including experience with Fatality Prevention/Major Hazards/Critical Control program implementation.
- Strong influencing and negotiation skills.
- Knowledge of NSW WHS legislation.
- Proactive and detail-oriented with the ability to manage change effectively.
- Problem-solving skills with the ability to develop innovative solutions.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Experience in planning and implementing site safety audit programs.
