About the Role
The University of Sydney's Faculty of Medicine and Health is seeking a senior medical practitioner and experienced leader to lead the Rural Clinical School, Dubbo/Orange. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing external partnerships with local communities, Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples, governments, health districts, and medical staff councils.
The role incorporates leadership of the clinical school and oversight of academic activities. Students are at the clinical school for four years as part of the end-to-end MD program - the Dubbo Stream in a new purpose-built facility. There are also extended placements of metropolitan students at Orange in Years 3 and 4.
The Head manages relationships with key institutions and stakeholders, including government agencies, health services, and community organizations. The position requires strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective relationships.
About You
* Registration in NSW as a medical practitioner
* Experience in people leadership and management within higher education and/or health sectors
* Demonstrated commitment to rural health and education
* SUCCESSFUL MANAGEMENT OF RELATIONSHIPS WITH KEY INSTITUTIONS AND STAKEHOLDERS
* Familiarity with the University's strategic plan and organisational culture
