Lake House Hotel & Spa + Dairy Flat Lodge
Luxury hospitality, 40+ years
Career Pathway: Progression within the group for right candidate
There are roles that look good on paper, and then there are roles that genuinely shape a career. This is the latter.
Lake House Retreat has spent more than forty years becoming one of Australia's most loved and respected luxury destinations. At its centre is a two Chef's Hat restaurant — the soul of the brand — surrounded by 33 rooms and suites, a day spa, conference and event facilities, and a sister property at Dairy Flat Lodge & Farm: a six-suite boutique lodge set across 40 productive acres, ten minutes down the road.
We are looking for a Rooms Division Manager who understands instinctively what it means to deliver exceptional accommodation experiences — someone who brings the same standards to a pre-arrival email as to the moment a guest steps into their room.
The role:
Currently reporting to one of the Directors, you will lead the rooms division across both Lake House and Dairy Flat Lodge — overseeing front office, housekeeping, houseman and reservations, with responsibility for the seamless, consistent and beautifully executed delivery that defines the Lake House stay.
This is a hands-on leadership role. You will be on the floor, in the rooms, in the detail — building a team that operates with pride, precision and warmth, and a guest experience that earns loyalty and return visits.
What we are looking for
* Proven experience in a senior rooms or front office leadership role within a luxury property
* A genuine feel for service: what it looks like, what it feels like, and what separates the good from the exceptional
* Strong people leadership — you recruit well, develop your team with intention, and hold high standards with warmth
* Financial discipline: cost control, labour management and budget ownership across your departments
* Confident with systems — PMS, reservations platforms, rostering and reporting tools
* Calm under pressure, clear in communication, and honest in all directions
* An appreciation for the culture of a family business: its history, its values, its way of doing things
* Settled and grounded — happy to live in and be part of the Daylesford community
Why Lake House?
* A property with genuine soul — built on forty years of craft, care and culinary excellence
* A senior role with real authority, in a business that invests in its people
* A beautiful region, an extraordinary team and the satisfaction of working somewhere that matters
* A clear pathway for growth within the group for the right candidate
