The Opportunity

At Boeing Defence Australia (BDA), we invite you to embark on this journey as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer – Avionics within our Maintenance Repair and Overhaul (MRO) Services team at RAAF Base Amberley.
As we establish our ALQ‐99 Intermediate Level Maintenance (ILM) Capability, your expertise will be essential in maintaining the advanced electronic warfare systems for the EA‐18G Growler. Your contributions will directly impact operational readiness, providing critical support across Air, Sea, and Land units. Growlers play a vital role in modern military operations by ensuring air superiority and protecting friendly forces through their electronic warfare capabilities.
Your Role
* Perform maintenance on the Tactical Jamming System and its sub-assemblies to ensure optimal performance.
* Provide guidance and troubleshooting for the Tactical Jamming System to enhance operational efficiency.
* Use the electronic maintenance system to confirm and document that tasks have been completed satisfactorily.
* Ensure serviceable pods are available to meet operational demands.
* Maintain and update records in an enterprise tracking tool for accurate serviceability information.
* Uphold workplace health and safety practices and report any issues.
* Collaborate with the team to prioritise and execute maintenance tasks per Commonwealth requirements.
Qualifications & Requirements
Necessary Requirements:
* Certificate IV in Aeroskills (Avionics).
* C class driver's licence.
* Australian Citizenship, with the ability to obtain and maintain a Negative Vetting 1 (NV1) security clearance.
Desirable Experience:
* At least two years of experience in the field.
* Knowledge of Aviation Quality Assurance procedures.
* Experience as a maintenance certifier or trade supervisor.
Commitment to Training
Applicants will be required to complete an initial 3 months of ALQ‐99 training, followed by up to 9 months of on‐the‐job training in Whidbey Island, USA. Additionally, you will be expected to support annual training exercises and operations both within Australia and internationally.
