Day‑to‑day responsibilities
* Develop and automate processes for continuous integration, delivery, and deployment.
* Monitor and improve software development, testing, and security controls.
* Analyse, mitigate and document security risks and vulnerabilities.
* Design and deploy software capabilities on Kubernetes container orchestration platforms.
* Fault‑find and resolve ad‑hoc problems to prevent system downtime.
* Implement new technologies and frameworks in the DevSecOps environment.
* Contribute to agile ceremonies, actively participate in daily stand‑ups, retrospectives, and other team meetings.
* Use written, verbal, and visual communication to facilitate technical discussion and share ideas.
* Play an active role in building an incredible team culture of inclusion, collaboration, and psychological safety.
Desirable skills and experience
* Kubernetes and other associated cloud‑native technologies.
* Experience managing Kubernetes deployments with kubectl, Helm, Kustomize or similar.
* Knowledgeable in DevSecOps practices.
* Familiar with engineering processes and standards.
* Skilled in CI/CD pipeline development with FluxCD, ArgoCD, GitLab CI/CD or similar.
* Capable of designing automated software tests.
* Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology or related field.
Qualifications and requirements
* Applicants must be Australian citizens to meet Defence security requirements.
* This role requires the successful applicant to obtain an Australian Government Positive Vetting Security Clearance.
