About the Role:
The Disability Support Worker is a community based role located in Port Augusta, South Australia. The key objective of this position is to provide assistance and support to individuals with disabilities to achieve their personal goals and maintain independence in their daily lives.
Key Responsibilities:
* Assist clients with their personal care needs, ensuring they receive the necessary support to maintain their dignity and well-being.
* Facilitate social participation and community engagement, enabling clients to develop meaningful relationships and connections.
* Promote client safety and well-being through proactive strategies and interventions.
* Collaborate with clients, families, and other service providers to ensure seamless delivery of services and support.
Requirements:
* Exceptional interpersonal skills and communication abilities, ensuring effective engagement with clients, families, and team members.
* Knowledge of safeguarding practices and ability to maintain client safety and well-being.
* Technical support skills to assist clients with relevant assistive technologies or devices.
* A current First Aid Certificate, valid driver's license, NDIS Clearance, and Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain them).
* Understanding of NDIS and person-centered care principles.
