Role DescriptionAs an experienced Surgical Planning Engineer, you will play a key role in delivering precise, patient-specific solutions for complex lower limb orthopaedic procedures.This is a hands-on technical position focused on high-quality case execution and direct clinical collaboration. You will manage cases end-to-end — from CT-based segmentation and deformity analysis through to final surgical guide design — working closely with orthopaedic surgeons through our interactive digital planning platform.You will operate within our globally approved quality framework while contributing to a high-performance, precision-driven engineering team.Key ResponsibilitiesYou will:Independently manage and plan cases from CT segmentation through to final guide designPlan deformity correction and osteotomy casesApply advanced 3D anatomical modelling and alignment principlesDesign patient-specific surgical guides, instruments and associated devicesCollaborate directly with orthopaedic surgeons to refine and validate surgical plansDeliver cases within structured 5–7 day turnaround timeframesOperate within an ISO 13485, EU MDR and TGA-regulated environmentContribute to continuous improvement of digital planning processesEssential Skills & Experience3–6+ years' experience in orthopaedic surgical planningStrong lower limb expertise (alignment correction, deformity analysis)Experience in deformity planningExperience working directly with surgeonsExperience operating within a regulated medical device environmentExperience in a fast-turnaround production environmentAdvanced proficiency in Mimics, 3-matic or equivalent 3D planning platformsWhat Success looks likesConsistently accurate, biomechanically sound surgical plansClear and confident communication with surgeonsReliable case delivery within agreed timelinesAttention to detail and strong quality disciplinePositive contribution to team culture and performanceAustralian Market FitWe are open to:Candidates currently working in Australian orthopaedic MedTech companiesEngineers returning from overseas rolesCandidates with full Australian working rightsThis is a full-time position based in Sydney.
