Malandari Flexible Aged Care is a place where old people live and are looked after. It is located at the edge of town, only a few hundred metres from the convenience store and service station.
About the role
Mabunji Aboriginal Resource Indigenous Corporation is seeking a passionate and community-minded Centre Chef/Cook to join our Malandari Flexible Aged Care based in a very remote location, Borroloola in Northern Territory.
This is a permanent full-time employment role. **Visa sponsorship available for the right candidate**. Accommodation support may be provided
As a valued member of our support team in the Aged care, you will play a vital role in preparing and serving wholesome, nutritious meals, catering to a range of dietary needs, cultural preferences that meet aged care standards.More than just a kitchen role, this position is about connection. You'll form meaningful relationships with our residents and team, supporting healthy eating habits and creating a positive food culture across the Centre.
Your duties will include:
Cooking and preparing meals (including special diets like pureed or high-calorie foods)
Helping with meal plating and distribution
Recording food and fridge/freezer temperatures
Keeping the kitchen clean, safe, and hygienic
Managing stock and placing food orders
What You'll Need
We're after passionate, reliable people who can step into shifts with confidence.
Certificate III in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent)
At least 12 months' experience in a health/care setting (aged care, hospitals, disability, or childcare)
Good communication and teamwork skills
A current National Police Check (from the last 12 months)
Working with Children Check
Proof of 2025 flu vaccine and COVID-19 vaccination
Flexibility to work various shifts (including mornings, afternoons, and on-call)
NDIS clearance (a bonus, but not essential)
Remuneration:
AUD per hour ( depending on the experience)
