Join our Downer Professional Services team and play a key role in delivering complex defence and national security projects that safeguard Australia's future.
Downer Professional Services is comprised of two business units, our Technical, Advisory, and Capability consulting practice and Team Downer, a major service partner to Defence. Together, we are a multi‐disciplinary advisory and delivery partner of choice for our clients in Defence and National Security.
We currently have an opportunity for an ILS Manager in Canberra to work on Joint projects.
What You'll Do
* Leadership & Oversight: Lead, manage, and report on all ILS Team outputs, functions, and responsibilities, including administrative tasks and strategic planning.
* ILS Deliverables Management: Oversee the delivery, review, and endorsement of all ILS‐related plans and contract deliverables, including the Integrated Logistics Support Plan (ILSP).
* Stakeholder Engagement & Representation: Represent the SHFC ILS function at management forums and meetings, ensuring alignment with program objectives.
* Export Control & Compliance: Manage export controls for the SHFC Program, ensuring regulatory compliance across logistics activities.
* Mentorship & Team Development: Provide support and guidance to ILS Team members, fostering capability growth and effective resource management.
What You'll Bring
* Relevant Qualifications & Defence Experience: Tertiary qualifications in logistics management and demonstrated experience in Defence sustainment, procurement, and ASDEFCON suite application.
* Leadership & Team Development: Proven capability in logistics leadership roles with the ability to coach teams through strategic implementation and change management.
* Stakeholder Engagement & Communication: Strong interpersonal skills with a track record of effective collaboration and communication across internal and external Defence stakeholders.
* Ethical & Policy‐Aligned Conduct: Commitment to acting lawfully and ethically in accordance with Defence, CASG, and Commonwealth policies including PGPA and procurement rules.
* Strategic Resource Stewardship: Ability to manage project resources efficiently and seek continuous improvement to enhance CASG's operational capacity and value for money.
* Negative Vetting 1 or higher Security clearance required. Compliance with International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) may also be required.
