NBMLHD Community Mental Health offers a range of specialised services for children, young people, families and older people, through our community-based services and health centres. Our multidisciplinary health professionals and case managers take a collaborative approach to mental health care by linking with their patients to work together and consult within an environment appropriate to the person's needs.
Mental Health Services within NBMLHD is seeking an exceptional leader to take on the pivotal role of Operations Manager within the Adult Mental Health Services. This is a rare opportunity to influence the strategic and operational direction of mental health care across our community, working in close partnership with the Mental Health Executive team to ensure services are safe, effective and responsive to the needs of the population we serve.
In this senior leadership position, you will hold delegated responsibility for the delivery of high‑quality, efficient and person‑centered mental health services. Your remit will span the full spectrum of operational performance, including the management of corporate service functions, the oversight of clinical quality and safety, and the continuous strengthening of service effectiveness. You will guide and support our workforce through strong human resource leadership, foster a culture of excellence in work health and safety, and champion ongoing professional development, education and research across the service. Your leadership will be instrumental in driving performance, enhancing service capability and ensuring that Adult Mental Health Services continues to meet the highest standards of care.

What you will bring to the role

* Consistently demonstrates behaviours that reinforce the CORE Values of our organisation, Collaboration, Openness, Respect and Empowerment. Demonstrates these behaviours with all stakeholders; colleagues, direct reports, as well as our patients and consumers, and those that care for them.
* Relevant tertiary qualification in health related discipline and/or equivalent extensive senior management experience in a complex health environment.
* Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary issues within the NSW and National Health Care agenda, including in the development of Mental Health Services.
* Sound understanding of quality, risk, governance and regulatory systems and processes related to Health Care delivery.
* Experience in organisational re-design and change management, with proven ability to drive operational and service reform and positive workplace culture.
* Well-developed analytical, conceptual, problem solving and strategic capabilities with exceptional planning and organisational skills.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills including substantial experience in leading high level negotiations and writing complex reports, business cases and briefings.
* Demonstrated people management skills, including providing staff support, development, performance management and managing unacceptable workplace behaviour.
