About the role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Accountant to join the dynamic team at The DocShop in Traralgon East, Victoria. As the Accountant, you will play a crucial role in maintaining the company's and other entities' financial records, ensuring accurate reporting. This full-time position offers a chance to contribute to the overall success of the organisation.
What you will be doing
1. Preparing and analysing financial statements, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements and other financial reports
2. Maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations
3. Preparing and lodging BAS, IAS, Payroll Tax, TPAR, Superannuation returns and Fuel Tax Credits for all entities
4. Minor data entry and filing on other entities including the reconciliation of selected associated bank accounts
5. Preparing and lodging monthly state payroll tax
6. Preparing Tax Return lodgments for all entities
7. Preparing and lodging annual Workcover insurance remuneration
8. Entering and maintaining Asset Register in Reckon including asset depreciation
9. Checking Payroll batches
10. Preparing budget plans and forecasting reports in accordance with reporting timeframes
11. Providing monthly financial reports including cash flow forecasting
12. Perform financial analysis to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement
13. Providing financial advice and support to management, contributing to strategic decision-making
14. Create, review, develop and implement best practice internal policies/procedures to support accounting and budgetary functions
15. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance financial processes and controls
16. Work with the financial team to achieve company objectives
17. Staying up-to-date with changes in financial regulations and best practices
What we are looking for
* Qualified Accountant 3-5 years experience
* Strong understanding of financial accounting principles and reporting standards
* Proficient in the use of accounting software and spreadsheet applications
* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret financial data
* Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively
* Demonstrated experience in financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting
* Knowledge of relevant financial regulations and compliance requirements
