Director Corporate Communications

* Senior Communications role leading a high performing team to deliver the department's internal communications strategy and engagement plan.
* Work in a fast-paced environment as a trusted advisor to senior executives.
* Senior Executive Service Level 1 (SES-1), Fixed Term up to 5 Years.

The Department of Jobs, Skills, Industry and Regions (DJSIR) is seeking to appoint a Director, Corporate Communications to join its team. The Director, Corporate Communications is a pivotal leadership position in a talented high-performing team.

The Strategic Communications branch is focused on building the department's reputation and delivering on the DJSIR purpose by raising the profile of key initiatives, investments and programs.

Reporting to the Chief Communications Officer, the Director will work in partnership with senior executives, providing sound strategic advice to mitigate and manage reputational risks and deliver effective leadership communications to drive engagement across the department. The Director will also provide leadership, expert advice and strategic direction to the design and the delivery of the user experience when accessing the department's external-facing customer service functions including a call centre.

The successful candidate will be an accomplished senior communications leader and bring creativity and rigour to designing and delivering the department's internal communications strategy and engagement plan. They will also have a strong understanding of organisational context and demonstrated experience in building organisational culture and employee engagement.
