* Temporary up to June 2027, full-time (35 hours per week) opportunity

* Office location – Sydney or Newcastle

* Salary relative to experience, and ranges from $109,102 - $120,542 + super

Our Science & Insights team is seeking a temporary Air Quality Monitoring Officer to support the rollout of greenhouse gas monitoring equipment in the Hunter Valley. In this role, you'll contribute to the day-to-day operation of the NSW Air Quality Monitoring Networks (AQMN) and assist with a range of air quality monitoring programs and projects. You'll apply your scientific and technical expertise to deliver high-quality air pollution data and analysis that meets organisational objectives and scientific standards.

Working collaboratively across EES/EPA, universities, government agencies and research partners, you'll provide timely advice to stakeholders and prepare project documentation, reports, research papers, budgets and presentations. This is a hands-on opportunity to contribute to critical air quality science and support evidence-based policy within EES.

About You

You're a collaborative and motivated professional with experience delivering science projects in air quality methodology. Detail-oriented and highly organised, you have a strong interest in air quality and environmental protection. You bring proven skills in project planning, data coordination and problem-solving and take pride in clear, effective stakeholder communication to ensure projects are delivered to a high standard.

Essential Requirements

* Relevant qualifications, knowledge and demonstrated experience of air quality metrology.

* Demonstrated experience in delivering rigorous science projects in air quality metrology.

* Current drivers licence.
