Offer description

Do you share a passion for maintaining a continual focus on Making a Difference with Real Care to customers and employees? If this sounds like you, then we have your next opportunity.

With more than a century of care, quality and integrity behind us, O'Brien remains one of Australia's most trusted brands. As part of the global Belron Group, we're accelerating our evolution—innovating, strengthening our brand, and maintaining the confidence of customers across the country.

We're now searching for an exceptional Head of Risk & Compliance—a strategic yet hands‐on leader who will shape, strengthen and champion our Australian risk and compliance framework. This is a pivotal, high‐impact role initially reporting directly to the CEO and forming part of our top 30 leaders across O'Brien.

Why This Role Matters

This is not a "tick‐the‐box" compliance role. This is a true enterprise leadership position—one that balances commercial agility with robust assurance, long‐term resilience and the protection of our brand heritage.

You will lead and implement the vision, evolution and delivery of our Australian risk and compliance framework, ensuring it stays ahead of regulatory expectations, aligned with Belron global standards, and fully integrated into how our business makes decisions every day.

You'll work in close partnership with the Executive Leadership Team, GLT, Legal, operational leaders, and global Belron risk colleagues to cultivate a strong, proactive risk culture—and ensure we're always prepared, protected and progressing.

What You'll Be Responsible For

* Maintain and deliver the annual Risk Management Plan and key risk activities.
* Partner with Belron global colleagues to leverage best‐practice frameworks and tools.

Insightful, Transparent Reporting

* Lead high‐quality risk and compliance reporting, including quarterly risk register updates, maturity assessments, and ELT insights.
* Provide trusted advice that supports strategic decision‐making, business planning and risk appetite alignment.

Trusted Advisor & Constructive Challenger

* Partner with business leaders to identify, assess, mitigate and monitor risks.
* Build capability, awareness and accountability across the organisation.
* Facilitate regular risk forums and offer constructive challenge to ensure rigour and alignment with strategy.

Regulatory Compliance Excellence

* Work closely with Legal to interpret obligations and translate them into practical, effective controls.
* Collaborate with Key Accounts, Procurement, Property & Sustainability and other functions to ensure compliance with APRA, ASIC, GICOP, environmental and licensing requirements.
* Oversee compliance audits, investigations, breach management and remediation.
* Lead the Modern Slavery Working Group and ensure timely publication of statements.

Compliance Monitoring & Assurance

* Oversee and implement compliance monitoring programs, assurance reviews and obligations management.
* Maintain compliance risk registers and deliver actionable insights to leaders.
* Ensure functional owners maintain evidence-based compliance practices and training.

Culture, Training & Engagement

* Champion a strong compliance culture through communication, training and ongoing education.
* Create and uplift GICOP training for Auto, Glazing and subcontractor teams—including vulnerable customer guidance.

Business Continuity & Resilience

* Provide oversight of business continuity and disaster recovery planning.
* Support leaders to test, enhance and maintain continuity strategies that minimise disruption and enable rapid recovery.

What You Bring

Essential:

* 10+ years' leadership experience in risk, compliance or governance within manufacturing, industrial or similar environments.
* Strong capability in developing and embedding enterprise risk and compliance frameworks.
* Proven stakeholder and change leadership, with the ability to influence, challenge and coach senior teams.
* Deep understanding of legislative, regulatory and industry requirements.
* Outstanding communication skills—verbal, written, and presentation.
* Strategic problem-solving and commercial awareness.
* Collaborative, independent and proactive working style.
* Australian PR or citizenship, Sydney-based (with some travel).
