Job Description
* Position objectives
This position is responsible for planning, preparing and safely conducting swimming lessons to the Swim and Survive standard and preparing lesson plans, as well as supervising and assisting the development of Swim Teacher training candidates and others who participate in the class.
Key responsibility areas
* Plan, prepare and safely conduct swimming lessons to Swim and Survive standard, using a variety of instructional methods and styles.
* Assess and report on participant readiness, progression and/or level attainment.
* Supervise and assist in the development of Austswim or equivalent training candidates or other probationary employees who may participate in classes.
* Deliver professional customer service to participants, parents/carers and other stakeholders.
* Attend four mandatory staff meetings each calendar year, as directed by supervisors.
* Perform, as directed, other duties that are within the limits of the incumbents' skill, competence and training.

Qualifications and experience
No prior training or qualifications are required for this role. This will be provided with the associated costs covered by council for the selected applicant.
Selection criteria
We are looking for someone who:
* Is confident around in and the around the water;
* Is passionate about making a positive impact in our community; and
* May have experience working with children, however this is not essential.
