The Role
The Chief People & Programs Officer is a member of the Coast Shelter Executive Team and is accountable for overall leadership and management of the People & Culture and Programs functional teams. This is a true generalist people and operations role, it’s diverse and dynamic and requires extensive strategic and operational experience. The role leads the achievement of our organisational objectives, whilst ensuring legislative and compliance obligations are maintained.
Key Responsibilities:
•Champion our Values of Trust, Respect, Innovation and Connection.
•Bring to life the strategic plan, implementing the business deliverables for the People & Culture and Programs functional teams.
•Ensure the requirements of all Specialist Homelessness Services government contracts, MOUs, agreements and other funding initiatives are upheld.
•Lead all aspects of human resource management, including organisational development, learning and development, talent acquisition, industrial relations and safety.
•Lead projects to support the achievement of both strategic and operational objectives
•Coach and lead the People & Culture team and Program Managers to ensure an exceptional employment experience across the organisation.
•Support the capacity building of Coast Shelter People Managers through tailored learning and development programs.
•Champion diversity, equity and inclusion and the achievement of our Reconciliation Action Plan.
•Collect and analyse data to identify trends, make informed decisions to enhance the People and Programs functional teams.
All about you
•Proven management experience in not for profit or mission-driven organisations, with a deep understanding of their unique challenges and opportunities.
•Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or equivalent skills and experience.
•You have demonstrated success in a diverse operational role.
•In-depth knowledge of legislation, regulations and HR & Safety best practices.
•Exceptional interpersonal skills and the ability to connect with all people. You’re approachable, considered and genuinely enjoy working with others.
•Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to challenges.
