We're hiring a Project Coordinator / Project Manager in Devonport (to start in 4-5 weeks).
We are a well-established and growing commercial fitout and shopfitting business delivering projects across Tasmania and selected interstate locations. We're seeking an experienced Project Coordinator / Project Manager to join our Devonport-based team.
This role suits someone with a solid grounding in construction project delivery and contract administration who's ready to take greater ownership of projects while continuing to develop their project management career.
Includes regular Hobart site visits & occasional interstate travel.
Open to candidates wishing to relocate to Tasmania.
About the Role
You will play a key role in the planning, coordination, and delivery of commercial fitout projects, working closely with senior management, clients, consultants, and subcontractors. The role requires a balance of strong administrative capability, site-based coordination, and confident stakeholder engagement.
Key responsibilities include:
* Coordinating and managing multiple commercial fitout and shopfitting projects
* Preparing, issuing, and managing RFIs, Variations, Extensions of Time (EOTs), and Notices of Delay (NODs)
* Supporting and administering construction contracts in line with project requirements
* Liaising directly with clients, consultants, and subcontractors via phone, email, and meetings
* Attending site meetings and conducting regular site visits (Hobart and interstate as required)
* Developing, updating, and managing construction programs using Microsoft Project
* Monitoring project progress, risks, and program impacts
* Assisting with project reporting, cost control, and documentation
* Implementing and utilising company management software (NEXVIA) to manage project workflows
About You
You're organised, commercially aware, and comfortable taking responsibility for project outcomes. You understand the importance of clear documentation, timely communication, and proactive issue management.
Ideally, you will have:
* Certificate IV in Project Management or Building & Construction (or higher qualification)
* Demonstrated experience in project coordination or project management within construction or fitout
* A sound understanding of construction contracts and project administration
* Proven experience preparing formal project correspondence and contract notices
* Strong written and verbal communication skills
* The ability to confidently engage with clients and contractors
* Experience developing construction programs in Microsoft Project
* A willingness to learn, adopt, and help implement internal systems and processes (including NEXVIA)
* A current driver's licence and flexibility for site travel
